Caritas Development Institute (CDI) is the Training and Research Center of Caritas Bangladesh. CDI was established in 1983 with a view to extending training, evaluation and research services to Caritas projects staff and other NGO personnel, people's organization, Church and ethnic institutions in Bangladesh. Since inception CDI has been assisting Caritas projects and other development partners through continuous innovative practices. It also contributes to orientation of development activists; enhance their knowledge, skills and develop positive attitudes utilized for improved performance.
From January 2010 CDI has been started its journey as a Trust of Caritas Bangladesh.
Team spirit, openness and transparency are believed to be key determinants of organizational performance. Lastly, CDI wants to establish as proactive force for sustainable development.

In the light of the Social Teachings of the Church, Caritas Bangladesh envisions a society, which embraces the values of freedom and justice, peace and forgiveness, to live as a communion and community of mutual respect and love.

Research Unit is an important domain of CDI. Its area of specialization is conducting different socio economic research, empirical research, exploratory research, ethno­ graphic research and participatory action research for Caritas Bangladesh, partner organizations, and other non-government organizations at national and international level.

Physical Facalties

CDI has nature friendly open premises. It has two well-equipped training halls for organizing training, seminar, conference and meeting having all modern amenities like air condition, multimedia, Wi-Fi etc. CDI also offers residential and dining facilities for 50 people at a time. Residential facility comprises both AC and Non AC services with 24 hrs. Wi-Fi availability. AC rooms with TV are available on demand.
